I saw her today and couldn't resist. This picture doesn't do her justice. I think her color would be called an Argent Creme. I named Muriel.

She looks albino. How well do rats accept newcomers?

She isn't an albino, that's what I meant by this picture doesn't do her justice, she's a very light beige. Rats are extremely social and will die or go crazy if left alone so usually they do well with newcomers after the pecking order is established. They need the company of other rats or people. They tussle when they go into heat, which is once every 2 weeks. I have close to 40 of them. She's pretty, but not as pretty as my main girl, picture included.

I have acquired the title of 'rat whisperer' at the local pet store because I'm very good with the ones that are hard to work with. It started as a joke but stuck. My wife is very good with rat medicine and frequently helps them when they have a sick rat.

Sian is gorgeous. I can see why she's your main girl.

Wow, a cool new friend. So many people are down on rats even if they're domesticated. They're much better than ferrets. Ferrets are always creeping out of places, scaring the hell out of me. I used to have a black and white rat named Gus. Close to 40 of them? That must be interesting.
