It's probably better if you avoid using Color to Alpha on the whole image, like Ofnuts suggested. It still won't look that great. The best solution would be to recreate the image on transparent layers using the original underneath as a guide, if you can. Of course, this isn't always possible. When it comes to logos, it's also probably better if you use a vector application in the first place.
