I saw it on LibreGraphicsWorld:
http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entr ... evitalized

I do not know what will be the algorithms used by the program, but it's crazy to see how patterns are generated. And you can get very nice patterns:

Malwarebytes blocked the site, it's probably a false positive.

What? Libregraphicsworld?
Surely is a false positive.

Must be that detected the words "free (libre) - software" and therefore blocking

Hi Rod.
Deb packages are on site to download.
There is a program "alien" to convert packages. It's not ideal but it can be a quick solution. I've always found good compatibility between Ubuntu and Fedora packages. Here I upload the converted package to Fedora users can test it (32 and 64bit):
http://www.fileswap.com/dl/ApY1PmqSZx/e ... 6.rpm.html
http://www.fileswap.com/dl/be5UhyzAEO/e ... 4.rpm.html
Anyway, alien usage (deb to rpm):
alien -r package.deb

The package does not have a launcher. You must open the terminal and run the program with:
/usr/bin/evolvotron

O directly "evolvotron".

Thanks YAFU. you can tell it was a quick throw together by looking at the right side of the image. What's cool is that's just one of four different configurations of your pattern. If you duplicate it three times and arrange them differently by rotating them one way or the other, you get different variations.

One way it almost looks like circles looking back at you.

It is a dependency, Rod.
In Ubuntu you can search in which package a file is (libboost_program_options.so in this case) from the Ubuntu Packages site or using "apt-file".
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?searc ... e&arch=any
I guess in Fedora also you can do something similar.

I grabbed it from this link.

This one worked for me.

This sort of reminds me of Qbist in Gimp. :)

Hey, I did not know existed Qbist
If it seems a similar concept. Although evolvotron seems to create more complex patterns.

Filters>Render menu list. :)
You just never know what you might find deep in Gimps bowels hey! :bigthup

You can also save parameters with the dialog.
Then just create a folder named qbist in your home/.gimp-2.8 directory to save them in.
That way if you get a real cool looking one you can keep the settings.

Do you know you can add a launcher for this yourself in about three clicks?

Of course. I know at least four easy ways to create a launcher graphically without having to manually edit a file, but in KDE. Rod is using GNOME.
Anyway KRunner is what I most use. I suppose there is also a GNOME application to run programs with Alt+F2 or something.

@Rod, thanks!
