I really enjoy using this software. :)

Image

I like how the new history actions menu is detachable and can be re pinned to the main dialog window.
Also now all the node tools are at the left and styles to the right.

Superb work on the authors part. :bigthup :bigthup

Thanks Yafu! :)
I added a small note to the first thread, and changed the topic to reflect 64 bit availability also.

Hi guys,
I'm the developer of Knotter.

I see there's some demand for Knotter binaries so I've uploaded on sourceforge a binary for the GNU/Linux x86_64 platform.
I'm not sure about binary compatibility, everything is dynamically linked but there may be some issues.
If it works I'll add binaries for the i386 architecture as well.

Let me know if anyone manages to run the binary or if it fails.

Thank you very much!

Welcome to Gimp Chat mbasagli.
Thanks for sharing this program with us. :)

The i386 architecture should work for Fedora.
The uploaded one does not.

OK, I'll maintain the binaries then.

Is there a src for 5.7 yet?

I've only changed the configuration script so far. It will be available from git as soon as I make some significant change.

[edit]
Just seen your previous message, I'll try to see what's wrong with Fedora compatibility.

[edit2]
I've tested on Fedora 17 i686 and it works (requires the qtwebkit package).
I'll add a configuration option to remove that dependency and re-upload the binaries.

I've just replied to the Windows thread.
The icons should show up in Ubuntu, it's weird that they don't.
This will be fixed once I'll include a fallback icon package with Knotter.

Mbasagli, i am no longer able to compile the tar package.

I get a boost/ error with the GIT file and a countdown with the tar package.
Counting down from 15984 or something like that with a Modification warning.
Do i now need boost to be added to dependencies?

I am trying to update to 0.6.0
Is there a significant difference between 5.6 and 6.0 interface or changes or more components or tools added?
Otherwise i will just stick with 5.6 until you make big changes to the application.

I had some issues with git, now it should be solved and configure.sh will use boost only if it can be located.
Tomorrow I'll update the tarball download.

The changes from 0.5.6 should be:
* UI translation available in Italian and Czech
* Style undo-redo
* Optional fallback icon set
* Improved knot rendering (only visible when exporting to minimal SVG)
* Bug fixes
* Added a new cusp style (round)
* Option to keep knot style between sessions

The only major changes are the new cusp and style undo-redo.

Of course I'd recommend the latest version.

I just went ahead and added boost-devel to my arsenal and it compiled fine. :)
This is one cool program.
