Found out a few minutes ago that one of my childhood heros passed away today. Very sad indeed. He will still always be my hero. So long Neil and God speed to your new journey.

He seemed so young to pass. He was a very likable hero, seemed to shun publicity, and did a lot of good by educating the up and coming students.

A great loss for us all. But that short time he experienced on the trip to the moon, landing on the moon, and hopping around on the moon exploring and discovering... that was a great thrill that none of us will ever experience. He was soooo lucky to experience that.

I am curious if he left any secrets locked up in a hidden vault to be revealed to the public after his passing. You know... like what else did he see on the moon?
What did he reeeeeeally see off the record? Any signs of life?

According to a former NASA employee Otto Binder, unnamed radio hams with their own VHF receiving facilities that bypassed NASA’s broadcasting outlets picked up the following exchange:
NASA: “What’s there? Mission Control calling Apollo 11…”

APOLLO: “These ‘Babies’ are huge, Sir! Enormous! Oh my God! You wouldn’t believe it! I’m telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They’re on the Moon watching us!”

In 1979, Maurice Chatelain — former chief of NASA Communications Systems — allegedly confirmed that Armstrong had indeed reported seeing two UFOs on the rim of a crater:

Way before my time, but I know of him.

R.I.P Sir, than you for giving my generation (and all generations) a person of integrity to look up to. :)
