There is a mistake in this. Can you spot it?

Very cool! :)
The only thing i can see is the overlap of the text "CHAOSFILM" .

The lens shouldn't be closing when you take a picture.

Nope. The picture is already taken by then. It's nothing to do with the animation. It's something to do with the graphics.

The lens specs on the bottom are upside down.

That's the one. I should have flipped the text before mapping it to the path.

I think it is pretty darn cool. You have come a long way with your animations Eris.
BTW, now that you have your own lens named after you, I can see that new pc with Fedora in the horizon.

Molly - I'm looking forward to it. :)

Esper - Work through Drac's tutorials then piece together some ideas of your own and you're there. :)

Darn! Flipping the text doesn't work. :hoh I wish you could map text to a circle either way round. :gaah

Actually the lens markings can be correct for some manufacturers (for instance: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panason ... -zs15-tz25) (btw the solution isn't to flip the text but to flip the path). But for this you need one of my miracle path tools: 'reverse-strokes'

But 'CHAOSFILM' as it is it floats in front of the camera. The 'C' and the 'M' should be slightly darker since they are in the shadow and have some of the glyph made a bit more narrow to follow the perspective of the camera body.

CHAOSFILM was on a grain merge layer with reduced opacity so the C and M are slightly darker but you're right, they could have done with more darkening - it wouldn't have been difficult.

:bowdown you're getting so good it's almost scary :)! beautifully drawn and beautifully animated - my next camera will surely be a chaosfilm. btw, the text was like that on my old camera, it went round the lens in a path just like in your picture.
i don't think darkening the c and m would make much of a differeence, but if you want to make the text really wrap around that edge you might change the perspective on the m?

Thank you AnMal. It's a bit late to make changes now because I hate having a ton of layers and merge them as soon as possible. The M is the worst offender but I think the C could have done with a little perspective too.

The mistake is... you didn't warn me about this in the thread title !
You got me with my hair all messed up and no lipstick on!
Destroy that snapshot of me that you got!

Now I have one of you and it is going into Barbie's vault !

Very cool animation Erisian ! Another one of my favorites of yours.
Canon/Kodak/Pentax/Nikon will be very worried about this competition.
I think you should get a patent on this.
