that helps creating more than one guide at a time ?

The 'New Guide (by percent)' script in GIMP 2.8.2 is a bit tedious to use, because you have to go through the menu for every guide over and over again.

What about diagonal guides ? is something like that posible as well ?

I found this in the registry - anybody has experience with this script ?

Though you can't have diagonal guides, you can create a diagonal path (or any other shape) and set the "View->Snap to Active Path" option.

I was going to suggest this same thing.
Create a grid and then just make a selection out of the grid.
Selection to path and just use the perspective tool on the path grid.
Then just snap to path as Saulgoode was suggesting.

The image you've posted could be made by using the Image>Configure Grid then View>show grid/Snap to Grid.If you are making the triangles by using the free select tool, then just clicking on the intersections of the grid will mean you are able to create the diagonals.

Although a script for positioning guides would be handy especially when you want a few that aren't evenly spaced.Just looked at the script you posted in the first place and yes that is very handy, just what I was talking about.

Should check things out before posting next time.

I like the idea of being able to choose the colour of your guides then you arrange them to make it easier to see halves, quarters and eighths etc of the page.

That would be very handy Erisian, if possible.

When I want to do something like that, I create a grid then use the measurement tool to get the diagonal distance, then create another grid with that dimension then rotate it 45 degrees or whatever then use the free select tool to make my selection. Fill, copy, paste rotate etc, etc, change colors or whatever till I get the pattern I need.
