Having worked out how to create different sized gears using the polar filter that are able to mesh together, wanted to try an animation to see how it looked. This is my first attempt at doing any animation its only four frames long and loops back to the beginning.

that is awesome. I can see how you could get the gear teeth to mesh size and shape-wise, but how did you get the animation so perfect with only 4 frames?

Basically the larger gear has 20 teeth and cut outs so 360/20 = 18 degrees, so it takes 18 degrees for one tooth section to rotate, I simply dived this by 4 and rotated the gear 18/4 = 4.5 degrees each time, in an anticlockwise direction

The smaller gear has 12 teeth sections so 360/12 = 30/4 = 7.5, so just rotated this gear by 7.5 degrees clockwise each time.

I don't know what you mean by that. Facebook would be the place to ask.
