erisian, that's so cool! very creative, once again, you're an inspiration.
nice work, everyone! and i can't even try it because i only have access to my portable apps-version of gimp right now and i know it is possible to get python to work with that but i'm too much the fluffy pink girl (or not enough of a geek ;) ) to get it right. well, as soon as i get my touchpad fixed i'll give the glass text a try and no one can stop me...

erisian that is really cool, I set myself a challenge a while ago now to convert a picture of my daughter into an ice sculpture, never overly pleased with the results but this could be the start of another go.

yes, very beautiful ! :luvstruck :clap :luvstruck

why did you choose to darken the background in the middle ? that looks kind of odd to me
wouldnt a dropshadow be the better solution ?

how did you make the borders ? is that a brush ?

Its in the correct place but its not showing up...we will have to get partha or someone to have a look at it...putting it in where...this is where it was when we downloaded it...there is no other place to put it...we do not have EXE on our mac system. it is exactly where it is meant to be but obviously isnt working for us. It could be that its hiding under some other name

Akky, I have had trouble with plug in scripts on osx all along...some work some don't, and i have no idea why! Now that Partha has a mac to experiment on, perhaps he will discover the secret!

I've only got a problem with some of the python scripts (if thats what they call them). Dont seem to have issues with the other things...not since I persevered with getting gmic etc going....

yes, it's the py ones that seem to be a problem. the scm files all seem to work just fine.

2-Ton said " I just put the py file into the python folder". To the best of my knowledge, the Gimp folder structure is more or less the same on any OS, and in Linux and Windows PY plugins do not go in the Python folder but in the plugins folder. The point I was making above is that it doesn't matter what file type plugins usually are, .py files might still go in the plugins folder. It wouldn't hurt to try moving one and loading up Gimp to find out.

Had a go at Creating my Ice Sculpture again using the techniques described in the tutorial, this is the best I could get.

I really like that. I tried to do it on a photo of myself but getting it right isn't easy. You've done a pretty good job.
