I love what you did, Erisian. It looks like a soft watercolor. Beautiful.

I've been playing with satin. A Bing image search for satin brings up some really nice satin images. Here are two of them that I pared way down in size. Shows the original satin and the results of samj's filter. It makes really interesting textures.

Thanks O. Looking at yours, I think this filter has more uses than I once thought. Nice discovery.

went for the beadwork look but it looks more like those painted hammered tin mexican ornaments.

O: i really like your satin experiments!
2-ton: it does look a bit like those mexican ornaments. i get so curious when you say your first results looked like beadwork. i think this may be the wrong filter thread, though - you used the metallic colours filter for that one, right?

I used samj's couleurs Phychedeliques...and when I first was fooling around with it, I got a pic that looked like beadwork...I do not remember the settings as I kept on messing around with it and also used other filters on it, like some of PhotoComix's filters.

i see, that's probably why i didn't quite recognize the effect :). if you can recreate the beadwork would you let me know? i'm a beader (among other things), but i'm no good at getting beadwork effects in gimp.
