I just got back from the pub, so I can relate. Maybe if the text was burned in a bit more?

I like that! A little more like a branding.

i like the result
as requested i will be as critical as possible

1. why is the text unsharp ?
2. are the shiny blobs nail heads ?
3. i think the boards need to be closer together, its not a fence
4. i like the wood texture but not the added bits - the worm eaten holes need to be smaller for my taste and i dont like the circle-shapes at all
apart from that the wooden boards look very good and realistic
5. the plaster texture looks good !

Thanks Esper Hopefully the boards are aged and weathered, just knocked together by the tipsy Innkeeper to make a sign.
And I like a little shinny but I could try something different as an alternative

the shiny things seem to reflect light differently...perhaps they should all reflect from the same direction? and I agree that the holes and dents could be less perfectly circular. The boards are all lighted from the left, but the holes seem to be lighted from the bottom right...should be an easy fix...it's a great pic, I'm just trying to be super-picky as you asked.

The wood looks incredibly real. The nails aren't as realistic but I'm impressed with the overall effect.

It would make a very nice logo.

Sorry Graechan but I preffered the older versions, much more of a homemade feel to the sign.

the wormholes are much better, but the text doesn't look as burned in as the first one. Some of the nail heads look better, some still have too much white in them.

Great comments Fellas It helps me to create the menu's

the 'worm holes' were created with a different brush, easy to change in the menu, this is using animated Confetti and the worm holes Sparks

Graechan - I got to thinking about old English taverns and made a quick hex rivet brush you may find useful for your creation. I like the deeper burned-in look of one of the earlier ones myself. I threw together a quickie to illustrate the brush in case anyone else might have use for it.

very nice but now i feel the darkest outlines (i .e on top middle of the capital "A") too sharp.

I like the bolts but there is something about the battered rivets Graechan used suit the look better.
