Got off my lazy behind and tooks some pictures of Golden Rod flowers. Missed this opportunity last years since I kept putting it off. These need major retouching, but all I did was resize them and uploaded them to the Shack. I tried to create an album, but the Shack's having a conniption for whatever reason (w.r.t. creating albums anyway). :)

The goldenrod is gorgeous and I'm so glad it's in a photo. Aaaaaah-choooooooo!!! in person.

Also, those yellow daisies are beautiful. I love daisies especially. :ffy

lol; yeah. I'm not allergic, but usually the pollan can get so high that I can still sneeze and do get headaches once in a while. Anyway, though I would process at least one of these captures. Pushed a little beyond the realm of real though (it's what I do). Did it from the jpeg (normally would Adobe bridge from RAW, but thought I would see what I can do witht the jpeg so it's an all GIMP edit). :)

My first reaction to the images is that the color needs a bit of brightening. I downloaded that last image, scaled it down, duplicated the layer and set the top layer to grain merge. That brightened it considerably. A lazy way to do it. :hehe

A very small wildflower in my town, no larger than 1.5 inches in diameter all red bouquet:

And here the same image magnified, thanks to 12 megapixels:

I love everyone's flowers! It makes me want to take some. Actually, though, everything here is beautiful orange, yellow and red leaves. It's so gorgeous!

I have my usual sites I check every morning, GC is one. This morning my wife didn't feel like turning her laptop on so she just watched mine. When I got here she noticed this thread and wanted to see 'a page or two.' After looking at all 27 pages she decreed that I need to get pics of local plants and post them so I'll be doing that.
For the next few days though I don't plan on doing anything, I'm resting for Saturday, when I'm walking in a walk for life. Considering I'm an old guy with arthritis it's going t be very painful. I promise though, that I'll post some flower pics.

This greeted me this morning...the flower will only last a few hours and then be gone....the plant itself has many buds this year though so we will be blessed with others over the next few weeks

akky: that's a real beauty! real flowers don't seem to make the same impression on me as painted ones, but i love these. my mum used to have a plant, it would bloom sometime in late summer and when she saw a bud was about to burst she invited people over for an imporvised party that would last as long as the flower :).

Wow Pauline; never seen a catus flower so big. What type of cactus gives you that type of flower? Like the white cactus flower to but it is a shame that the flower for it doesn't last very long. :)

Lyle I have no idea what it is called...we were given a piece of it and this is the result...the white one above it is about 3 inches in diameter. there are more coming on it as well...over the next few weeks...the white is covered in buds...The red kinda looks like a type of zygo cactus but it has massive segments bout 6-8 inches long

Corn plants are pretty common but in all my life I have never seen one bloom until this year. This one is at the office where my wife works. They were all amazed when they saw the blooms.
