Past summer I was a frequent guest here. Not registered. Made this animation in July(?) and it was supposed to be my first entrée into GC.
Somehow, postponed it. Can't really erase it from my disc.

The original was twice as big, but too big to meet file-size requirements here (50 frames).
Scaled it down and cropped and cropped again. What is left of it isn't a thing of quality it once used to be.

The logo is a variation based on this great tutorial by Fencepost http://www.gimpdome.com/text-effect/3d-text-in-gimp/
Animation is made with GAP Water pattern plugin by Wolfgang Hofer.

This is a small token of appreciation to GC, the greatest website for GIMP users, and what it makes great is GC members,
nice people. "Looks like a nice place for the nice people" were my first words here. I'm happy it is 200% true.

After I'm done with displacement and depth map experimenting in GIMP, my main focus will be on animations only. And I mean Blender, in which I have already invested too much time to just let it all go. Besides, with introduction of CryBlend3 my 12 yrs old newphew's dream come true and I will be helping him there a lot too and will be less frequent guest here.

Cheers!

That is very good, even if you did have to cut it way down. I hope you do keep dropping by and showing off some of your artwork.

Thank you, 2-ton! I'll be around, and probably checking and reading on everyday basis, just less frequent posts from my part (after all, I love this site and its people). GIMP is still going to be my escape from reality and I'd love to share my Blender works here too

k1tesserena: i think it's a beautiful animation! and i'm glad to hear you will be dropping by now and then and it would be fun to see what you do in blender too - and of course anything you do in gimp when you have time to spare for it!
