Just playing around again and came up with a couple more effects. I took one of my pattern files for the little diagonally offset circles, turned 'em into chrome beads and used them to make some beaded metal text. I attached the Chrome Bead pattern file below. Just go to Colors>Levels and adjust the intensity.



Here's a couple of samples.





I may make another chrome one that's not offset diagonally.

You can always add a little color.

draconian: this looks great! i really like the beaded texture on the metal and i think that pattern could be useful for many things .

the grunge is also very nice, especially the goldique one

That's hilarious because for that one I placed a colored layer above everything in overlay mode and cut out Center area of the text but forgot to Select>Invert>Delete with the text layer to get rid of the part of the colored layer over the background. The background coloring was just an oops but now that you mention it turned out kinda cool looking after all.

I downoloaded that tut and will check it out later.

My favorite is the second one; I like how it seems delicate compared to the other ones. I also like the one with the gold; I love contrasting metals. Nice job!
