Hi Folks,

I'm happy to announce the release of the version 1.5.2.2 of the G'MIC framework
(including of course an update of the plug-in for GIMP).
Here is the Changelog : http://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/discu ... 856020027/

Let me also say that we are looking for people willing to help on the project. Mainly, we need packagers :p
Samj will stop building G'MIC packages for Window 64bits versions, but she told me she will be very happy to share her building environment, so that someone else can do it in the future. Unfortunately, I don't have any access to a 64bits machine running Windows. So, if someone is interested to do this, please let us know.

Also, in few weeks, I will present all the G'MIC stuffs (command line tool, web service, GIMP plug-in, ...) at the "Capitole du Libre" event, in France : http://www.capitoledulibre.org/2012/con ... #conf-gmic

If there are French people on GimpChat wanting to join, let me know also :sdrunk

I hope you will appreciate this new version. I've been very silent on Gimpchat these days, just because I've worked a lot on it :sleepkbd

Now, let's prepare the next release :gaah

Thanks again, David.
Does G'MIC automatically find ImageMagick?

Odinbc : Yes, if it is installed on a standard location, it should find it. Anyway it is only useful for the command line version 'gmic' of G'MIC, as the plug-in just doesn't need ImageMagick.

Have no idea how to compile for any program so hopefully there are gurus that will keep up the G'MIC plugin for 64-bit GIMP. Samj's done an excellent job; sad to hear that she has to pass the mantle on. Thanks for the heads up on the update David. :)

When I start Gimp from the command line --verbose I noticed a G'MIC loading error that I can't figure out what it means. Otherwise G'MIC works fine; the only issue running G'MIC is on update with the already known, Tom Keil's filter error.

Here's the G'MIC verbose.

Querying plug-in: 'C:\Users\Odin\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins\gmic.exe'
[gmic]-0./ Start G'MIC parser.
[gmic]-0./ Input file '-gimp' at position [0]
[gmic]-0./ *** Error in ./ *** Unknown command or filename '-gimp'.
[gmic]-0./ Abort G'MIC instance.

[gmic] *** Error in ./ *** Unknown command or filename '-gimp'.

From some previous versions I noticed that the filter "Relief Light" has strange behavior when it is applied to an image with alpha channel. The image turns white when the filter is applied. Is it normal that happen?
I do not remember if this was always so.
