GIMP Version: 2.8.3
Operating System: OSX Lion
OS Version: 10.7.5
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I really need help. I've been trying for days to install scripts correctly. I've downloaded and placed them into the seemingly correct location in my finder window. I restart GIMP but cannot ever find the scripts. I'm sooo frustrated. Any help would be so very appreciated.

It says on the your post that you are using Windows XP, but on the title is says Mac OS x 10.75. Which one are you using?
I don't think Mac is setup the same way as Windows.
In Windows you put your scripts into your gimp/user/scripts folder.
What script are you trying to find and we can help you.

I updated my system info...it is a mac os x 10.7.5, lion. So, I tried to attach a link to a script I would like, but the forum says it "looks too spumy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs." Regardless of that, I just want any script so that i know how to install it correctly. Are there only certain ones that work on a mac?

You can upload some images after you have made 4 posts.
I think you can put all the same scripts in Mac as you do in Windows and Linux, which I have. I am just not sure if it is the same method. We do have some Mac users here so I am sure they will answer you question.

yes, you do install scripts in macs the same as windows. You just drop them into the script folder in yourname>library>gimp>.............scripts. THe dots are because it depends on which gimp you use, the exact layout of the path. My mcgimp has a slightly different path than the gimp I got from Lisanet.de.

Jillio, the method for installing scripts on a mac depends on a few things...1. Which version of GIMP you are using and 2. Which Mac OS you are using...
Basically what 2-ton told you is correct with subtle differences coming in to play depending on where you got your download from
