I've tried to recreate the so-called 'Poster Edges' filter from Photoshop, as a G'MIC filter, so that GIMP users can use it. I've added it as 'Artistic / Poster edges' (in the G'MIC plug-in).
Here is how it looks like :

The last two times I have updated G'MIC, I got this error message (same one about Tom Keil's stuff) and it froze G'MIC so that I couldn't close it, but I was able to close gimp and the G'MIC window closed too.

Can this be fixed in order to be able to update gmic?

You can manually change the settings in G'MIC to disable Tom's name and refresh. Already posted a response at G'MIC's Flickr page; yes, David's fully aware of this issue.

Yes the external source of Tom Keil is not reachable since few days, I don't know why.
But this shouldn't freeze the plug-in anyway (on my machine, it just displays the error dialog
then everything returns back to the normal when clicking OK).
Note also that you have probably updated your filters correctly, even if one source is not reachable, all
the other ones are updated.

I can't find where the list is that disables it.

You're right O; apparently you no longer can do this ability not that I used it at all when you did.

I remember when we had to enable them by checking them. Guess that is no longer an option.

Yes I remember that too. You just checked about, then the option was there.
All of a sudden that feature just disappeared. I liked it better when it was that way.

i like external sources all enabled by default , less that there is no more a option

Also may be hard to imagine that to enable NEW additional sources is needed to refresh filters 3 times in a row

should be only two times PC, the first time to make the plug-in aware that a new external source exists, and the second time to get the filter data from this new external source.
