I am working on a project and I need to have 2 images joined. In the enclosed photos I need the badge superimposed on the document. I would like to have the badge, with the black areas removed, placed on the lower right corner of the document and taking a bit less than one forth of the document. I would like to see the document through the openings in the badge. I'd like it to look like the badge is lieing on the document if possible.
Thank you to anyone who can do this for me.

I removed the black from the badge and enlarged the constitution but you can move it where you want it or enlarge or shrink it more. Is this the idea what you want? I enclosed the xcf for you to play around with.

To remove the black in the badge I used the :colsel I then went to Select > grow > 1 pixel then I hit delete. Make sure you right click on the badge layer and add an alpha channel before you delete.

If you want the badge to look like it is lying on the document, select the badge layer, go to filters > light and shadow > drop shadow, unclick allow resizing and click ok with the default or mess with the sliders until you get the depth and opacity you prefer.

My own take...

1) restore badge to actual circle
2) cut out badge (color to alpha)
3) import document
4) scale down badge and move to position
5) rotate badge layer and apply slight perspective
6) add small drop shadow

PS: got the shadow on the wrong side. Putting it on the right side is left as an exercise to the reader (easy enough to fix given the XCF).

Yes, the perspective tool. I first tried "Map object" on a plane, but it didn't look too good.

map object was my first idea as well and im sure the perspective tool works better, judging from my few experiments
