OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level



Crazy ? for you guys....I use the portable gimp 2.8 version on my desktop and I want to buy a tablet...like the android type tablets..can I use gimp with this or not? if not is there one I can use?

To the best of my knowledge you can use any tablet with Gimp. I use a Wacom Bamboo One with 2.6.11 and it works fine.

AFAIK, portable GIMP's are OS specific and the usual ones (e.g. Partha's version) are not going to work well on android platforms.
There is a build for android platform, though. Read here and follow the provided download link.
