Hey all!
I would like show you some of my new and older works using GIMP.
I love it to turn photos into painting-like arts. G`MIC and Gimpressionist are great for that!
Some works based on my on custom brushes. You can find it on Deviantart.
(hope this post is not too long)

Hi Chris. You've done some beautiful work there. I particularly like the fake paintings.

Thank you all!
I happy to read that you like my fake paintings. :)
It took a long time with much testing some filters and creating custom brushes.
The text effects, especially the glass...mhmm yes, i can write a tutorial for it.
See the attachment, it is another glass one with simple shapes.

The jimi-typo is easy: create a text-brush for Gimpressionist, play with settings and 2-3 layers.
At last a color overlay...thats it!
I saw this technique on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLXhUDxEJ3c ...hey i can now post Links! :bigthup

@Esper: yes i come from NRW (Hamm) too. :hi5

Love the seahorse, it looks real good. Was the shape done with the path tool?

Thanks Draconian and caz!
You can create those shapes with the pathtool, thats right.
But i used Inkscape for the seahorse.

Here another images made with GIMP:

The funny running tree: first use of the new cagetool (for the legs)
GIMP chrome/diamonds texteffect *bling, bling* :)
The sword was created with Inkscape and textured with GIMP.

chris f: i love that sword!!! and i'm really curious how you got the tree's legs so smooth if you used the cage transform tool, my results with that so far are anything but smooth. i ditto graechan's wish for tutorials :)!

@Chris, I love your running tree, that is cool. The texture on your GIMP looks so much like crushed velvet. Is that a pattern or did you did it manually?
