The snakes don't have anything to worry about with me. I don't really care for snake meat...too much work, too many bones. They are safe around me.

I have a friend that is a herpetologist (snake dude) so I have a pretty good knowledge of all the ones in this region. Most are harmless and I have no problem handling them. There are only about 4 that are poisonous like the timber rattler, copperhead, water moccasin and maybe a coral snake. I went snake hunting with him a couple of times and brought back a huge copperhead and made a belt out of him. Beautiful colors after the glycerin was applied!

Reading the reviews of Draconian, I immediately thought of the movie "Into the wild".

draconian: wow, that's an ambitious plan! good luck with it all and i hope you and your wife get a great weekend trip when that time comes. i'm relieved to hear snakes are safe around you, i'm sure that must have been molly's greatest worry when she told you to watch out for snakes "oh, no! draconian is going to run loose in the wilderness - what if some poor, innocent snakes get in the way!"
