When I finally got GMIC working, I noticed my brushes are gone..:( does this mean I gotta go look and find them all over again?

This is a new one on me?? I would look in your preferences at your folders settings for your brush folders. I am wondering if one of your folder settings got deleted. You should have two by default. One is in the programs directory, and is available to all users. The other path is specifically for the individual user. I suspect that the second may have gotten changed. What OS are you using?

Go to Edit > Preferences > Folders > Brushes and check to see if the paths are there and if they are checked.

If they are there and checked, in GIMP go to Windows > Dockable Dialogs and click Brushes.

If they are not checked, check them and restart GIMP.

If none of those work, post back and we can try something else.

I think you may have mentioned that you are using WinXP. Maybe I dreamed it but anyway, go to Program Files/gimp 2.0/brushes and look to see if there are brushes in the folder.

If you have added brushes yourself, look in Documents and Settings / <yourname> /.gimp-2.6x / brushes and check if there are brushes in those folders.

If you are not running WinXP, let us know what OS you are running.

Oh, I thought you said both of your brushes folders were empty.

Deleted previous message with attached zip file of brushes.

At least you still have your default brushes. =)
You probably deleted or removed your docs and settings/user/gimp 2.6/ brush folder by mistake.
That is where all your downloaded brushes would be (usually).
Unless you have tried to install GURM? In that case you would have had to move them to separate folders.
Did you do that?
