Used 2 of Jay's cool test presets: jpr_shapes_gradient and jpr_line_edges w/ high blur for this render. Added Skeleton for the roads and voila; instant topographical map. :)

thanks for sharing this lylejk, I like the way you combine and layer and texturise effects - it is almost an embroidered or folk-art artistic effect the way you applied here .. and also hides the filter's rather rough nature at the moment! : )

lylejk: this looks really good! i know you gave us the outlines and i know you're lazy, but couldn't you write a tutorial anyway, just to be a nice and responsible gimp chatter?

Just got back from Birmingham; Dad had surgery today and my brother's with him since I have to work (just started so no PTO accumulated to take the day off unfortunately). Only had 3 hours sleep so I got 2.5 more before I woke up to post here. lol

Going to try to get a few more hours shut-eye soon before the graveyard shift. Anyway, it's really as simple as I layed out AnMal. Jay's preset is pretty much at their defaults except I bumped up the blur some on the line edges and did set the result to multiply by the way. :)
