Hi there,
After the interesting discussion we had about the meaning of the G'MIC acronym, we've decided to change it for the next release. So now, "G'MIC" will mean "GREYC's Magic for Image Computing".
This is nice, but this makes the current logo obsolete :

The current logo is becoming quite old now, and I even don't have a high-resolution version of it, so I think this would be a good occasion to replace it by something new.
I was wondering if some of the great artists around there would be interested to contribute and to propose a new logo for the G'MIC project (Let me apologize first, it would be a non-paid work!).
We are really open to all kind of proposals, but maybe I can give you some (non-strict) guidelines :
- A logo that would be at the same time simple *and* stylish, with a good visual impact and recognizable at a glance.
- Something that could be integrated well to the current project web-page (maybe not too flashy colors for instance) :
http://gmic.sourceforge.net, but also to flyers, presentation slides and so on..
So, the format (size and dimensions) is probably also important, to be sure we can use it in many situations.
- The signification of the acronym may appear or not (depending on the logo style).
- May we can use some elements of the Gmicky mascot inside, but this is not mandatory.

Well that's it. I know I'm requesting something really hard to do and I cannot offer so much to reward (except some thanks and putting your name in the G'MIC contributors list).
Maybe we can just modify the current logo, by removing the text on it. But if you have any ideas, please let me know !
Cheers,
David, in the name of the G'MIC development team.
