 Post subject: My 1st Photo repair.

i tried to repair an old photo of my mom and dad. here is the photo i tried to repair.

and here is my repair job. i wished i could make it better. i am so new at trying to repair photos. i could not for the life of me make it more clear. and i almost had to redraw the parts that are missing. just wished there was a better way.

Man's face is quite unrecoverable, you'll have to redraw it I'm afraid, also don't go too far on the contrast, you're already loosing details (her shirt and right arm). Your new colors seem good to me, you've reduced the greyed lighting. This is a very very blurry source, not an easy task you're trying.

I've tested default high pass filter on this, results are encouraging, give it a go:

thanks. i agree. i thinks its worthless. the picture is to badly damaged to repair. i just looked at it again. and the one i did looks awful. the picture i worked on was taken with a web cam . not scanned

Web cam??? Don't inflict this on you ;)
Scan this in a shop or bring it to a friend who has a scanner, it will be much easier, thus much rewarding.

i wasn't the one to use the web cam. it was my brother. lol. and i don't have a scanner. plus the picture is missing way to much to re do it. So i really don't see how scanning it will help much. other than it be more clear.

with a scan, you'll retrieve the facial details which are the most important things in this photo, but yes, daddy face needs some serious correction (maybe use other photos to help you in the repaint).
