That is cool Hearty.

he4rty: that's a really cool text effect! i think you combined the metal look, the inlay and the 3d beautifully. but where is ek22:s metal hex pattern? i think i must have missed it, i don't have it in my collection.

rod: love that wallpaper! a great mix of effects. the clock is a fun element too - i'd like to try that but i think it's above my geek level.

AnMal - sorry for any confusion the pattern by ek22 is the colours behind the metallic hexagon pattern

So reading through the jewelry thread and feeling inspired have created this, went with another method for creating the text outline, background Pattern behind metallic hexagons by ek22 and also used espers metallic gradient on the text and hexagons.

That came out really nice. Glad that pattern is seeing some use. I like how it's all shiny, just waiting for someone to come along and leave fingerprints all over. :hehe

Yesterday I wanted to create a new wallpaper for my desktop computer.
I have my screen resolution set to 5760x1080, so I needed to do everything with detailed images.

I took a photo of a friend, cropped it and converted it to a BW pencil drawing.
NB the scale has been reduced to make suitable for uploading here.
Image
I then used the clone layer tool to rotate it 35 times at 10 degree increments.
Image
I then spent time coloring the image and making 5 separate variations.
Here is what I came up with. Once again image has been scaled by 50% to upload.
Image
If anyone wants to have/see the full size I can email it to you.

Yes 3 x 1920x1080 in surround so windows thinks it is just one big monitor. :)

fluffybunny: oooooh! that wallpaper is mindblowing enough in itself, without taking into account that you're the owner of three of those widescreen monitors. i want your autograph now!
sallyanne: nice pattern on that - i guess you made it yourself? it would be fun to see what you started with!

Thanks 2-ton, more trial and error. Sometimes it is enjoyable to go with the creative flow and see where the journey leads. ;)

Imagine how many un-filed files you could squeeze onto a desktop my size!

Thanks AnMal, I appreciate that you spent your scarce internet credits viewing it.
I loved the way the eye was the only recognizable part after the rotation.
Kind of reminded me of peacock feathers in a strange way...

Not sure if there's a thread on this or not already, but would love to see some of your homemade desktops/wallpapers. I made this one tonight, both the desktop, and the clock. Got the clock idea from Wallace, who got it from Rod, haha. I hid the desktop icons, so just the desktop and clock would show:

I showed ya mine, now you show me yours. Image
