Fantastic pictures, I love digital art, and you are so good at it. I have been working on one of those watercolor tutorial projects again...it's still very hard to do for me, but I am muddling through. I have had to write it down, because it's so detailed, but mine still doesn't look as good as yours. I need to find out more about what settings look best with which pixel count. Settings are my downfall in a lot of scripts a I'm never quite sure what the results will be. It's not always about more or less, it's often about the balance between different settings.

I like what you've done Chris, but (IMHO) I'm not crazy about the 'dripping' in the background. Other then this they are really fabulously done digital renderings.

chris f: - really lovely work! very inspiring to see these, they're so well made and the colouring is delightful. and it's funny how tastes differ - i really love the paint drips, those and the swirls are my favourite details .

I love these two pics, the child especially. I've done your tutorial and in essence I kinda know how you did it, but it seems you have a certain touch that brings out something more. You keep doing that, you're pretty damn good at it.

Thank you all for your nice comments. The girl-picture was not perfect and i know why.
There is no tutorial, but i can describe how i made this.
First i remove the background from the photo, then i use segmentation (G`MIC) to make it "vectorish".
Then i add a grunge background and a lot of brushes (watercolor/splatters/flowers/grunge-dots/bokeh).
Last i add a plasma layer (mode:color) and set the opacity down. That`s what i do.
I can record a screencast later.
I`m working to make this style better...so i made this one with a cool guy:

I have always liked that look whre the fg and bg are combined. I used to try making my sigs that way but they have never turned out as nice as yours Chris.

Well that's the end of my painting career! I think I'll go and eat worms - there's just too much to live up to.

What i do is absolutly not painting. I would say this is photomanipulation/graphicdesign
with heavy use of filters and brushes.
