sallyanne: that looks cool! a bit like paua shells. like your new sig too. it took me forever to get started using the paths tool, but now it's one of my best friends . masks too, i thought they were hard to understand in the beginning but now i use them for nearly everything i do.

Thank you Anmal. The pattern there was an accident or I didn't know what would happen if I clicked on something. Made me think of beads.

My problem with masks is I haven't really studied them to see what they can do. I guess that will be my next project.

did you try to take a photo of yourself and overlay your jewellery on it, playing in Gimp with distortion and perspective?...
(well, I'm not asking to put it here, you may obviously remain a mysterious girl...)

Will have a look tomorrow for a public domain pic I can use.
I am not photogenic at all, so even if I was game I wouldn't take a photo of myself.

how did you make it ?

i got lucky, because when i started learning Gimp, masks where the first thing i studied, cant remember what the reason was
but i learned everything from Alex' excellent videos and ebooks

paths gave me headaches at first too
the basics are really simple, when i look back now
making complex shapes can be difficult though
