This is my entry for the Nightmare contest at Dark Art Challenges. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. Used the curve bend filter for twisting the shape of the film and based a lot of the background effects on a tutorial I found for an asteroid type impact/explosion scene. It tended to make the overall scene fairly dark but I think that's to the advantage and makes the image more real looking if that's possible for a nightmare.
Any thoughts and comments on this are welcome.

Wow. That looks like a nightmare - surreal and full of interesting objects and shapes. I particularly like the girl in the lower left corner. It's all great. Nicely done.

I love how the film strips flow through the landscape...very surreal.

caz: i think this is one of your best so far! a very surreal, eerie feeling in it, just like a nightmare, and i agree with 2-ton that the way the filmstrips flow through the landscape looks great. good luck with the contest!

Thanks AnMal. I thought this one turned out well too. The tutorial I was looking at helped a lot, it's got some good hints for lighting effects.

The lighting is what makes it I think. The filmstrip is a nice effect, but I think the lighting on the landscape is what gives it the nightmare/dream quality.

Thanks, EK22. I'm learning that the lighting is the most important aspect in these kind of photo manipulations.
Alas, this one didn't make the winners circle, but there's always the next time. Once more into the fray.

Well, at least you created something beautiful that has meaning to you. That's always more important than winning.
