This sucks! The windows version says 1.4.5.0 but when installed it is really 1.3.9.0!!! When is the Windows link going to be fixed???

It was correct. I found the problem. It was a directory issue in Win 7-64 bit.

That's why I don't use the installer. I just unzip the zipped version and extract anything that changed (based on date code) and put in my GIMP plugins folder. Hate installers. lol

Has anyone done a successful Win7 64bit install? The 32 bit one doesn't work for me.

I went ahead and changed the name of the topic to the current version of G'MIC.
They change so quickly, it's hard to keep up. lol

I have version 1.4.5.2 installed in windows XP 32 bit.

How do I install this in a mac? I downloaded this file gmic_1.4.7.0_macosx_SnowLeopard.zip, which gave me a gmic.exe file, which i moved to Users/Library/Application Support/GIMP/plug-ins. But when I restart GIMP I can't see G'MIC in my filters list. Please help!

I don't have a mac, but you said the file for the mac has an .exe extension. For Windows the exe extension is an executable file you put on the desktop and double-click it to install it. Perhaps it is the same for a mac?

After it's installed you delete the exe file that's on the desktop.

When I double-click the exe file I get this message in the Terminal utility:

Maybe I'm not downloading the correct file. When I go to SourceForge, which file do I download? Is it always the one at the top ie the tar.gz file?

I also have Windows 7 and had no problem installing G'MIC there. Amazing plug-in, but I prefer to use Mac.

Click the download for the Mac file. The download should start and you can save the zipped file to your computer. You have to unzip the file to use the contents.

But here's what's confusing. On this page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gmic/files/) there are three files to download for the SnowLeopard OS, but only the one called /gmic_gimp_macosx_SnowLeopard.zip/download works. When I put the gmic_gimp file in the plug-in folder all is OK. So I wonder what the other two files are for, when all they give me is a exe file that doesn't work?

I don't know. But I'm sure happy it worked for you. I don't know the first thing about a mac. Enjoy G'MIC!
