It shouldn't conflict with anything as it is portable. You should contact Onkel Hatti (the compiler of this version), and get his input.Just PM him. :)
On a side note you can try and disable your antivirus software and try again.Sometimes depending on the antivirus software, it will conflict with Gimp.Example is AVG.
Clam Win works best with Gimp on Windows in my honest opinion.

I'm making disabling antivirus as a habit :D, it's free version of Avira and another local-made antivirus (???).
Still crashing randomly, I try the --verbose option in command prompt, I see the phyton doesn't load, not sure its the problem or not. But when gimp crash the command prompt doesn't show anything suspicious (??????)

Errr... I think I won't PM him, it seems the problem is on my computer since another have try it and it works fine... :(

When you run --verbose can you copy the output and paste it here in a code block?

I delete the files and re-zip again (for the third or fourth time), but this time gimpainter doesn't make .gimp-painter-2.8 folder in local setting, and this gimpainter back with my old gimp 2.8.4 theme before I uninstall it from my computer.(O.o)(Does that gimp haunting me because I am using gimp 2.8.4 portable now?)

Umm I will try this gimpainter more, mypaint brush seems doesn't work except in 'normal' layer mode, but on-canvas rotation is owosome :D

The .gimp-painter-2.8 folder actually will be named .gimp-2.8
The folder and it's sub-folders will not be created until you start Gimp-Painter at least one time.

Where did you unzip Gimp-Painter-2.8 to?

Oh, those puppies are my favourite singer pet.(?????)

The .gimp-painter-2.8 folder is at C:\Documents and Settings\user made automatically at first time I run gimpainter 2.8 (because I don't remember I made that folder), but when I delete that folder, gimpainter doesn't generate them again. (O_o)

And about the theme, it seems there is gimp configuration left somewhere in the computer I am using...

Oh I and placed gimpainter in C:\gimpainter\

Gimp-Painter is a portable so it should not have a .gimp-2.8 folder in User. That is probably from a installed version.
Your .gimp-2.8 folder should be inside the gimp-painter-2.8 folder.
For instance mine is here.(The Gimp Files folder being on my desktop.)
Gimp Files/gimp-painter-2.8/.gimp-2.8

So yours should be here
C:/gimp-painter-2.8/.gimp-2.8

See here viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7413 if you want 32 bit python support in Onkels Gimp Painter build for Windows 32 bit.

Can this be recompiled with the current state of GIMP 2.8 branch? The slow canvas panning bug is killing me (since the usual workaround of using Navigation window is kinda useless with rotated canvas), and it's supposedly was recently fixed in 2.8.5.

Also, is there a way to have dockable dialog tabs on top? I find them taking much less space that way.

Maybe I need to make my own build... How hard is to merge these two codebases? Is there lots of conflicts?

It currently is compiled as a gimp-2.8 fork. it works excellent.
Here is a screenshot (GimpPainter-2.8.3 ). I have also added python module support, G'MIC, and MathMap. :)

Yesir -you can download it here (without, python, gmic, or mathmap)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-pa ... kel_Hatti/

Look for gimp-painter-2.8 in the list.

Onkel why is 32 bit gimp a larger download than 64 bit?

I'm having a little problem with GIMP Painter

Sure it's very nice, but I just attached my Wacom tablet - and any brush (regular GIMP brush or MyPaint Brush) I select is behaving freakishly slow. Like a 1 second delay, which I am not experiencing in the regular GIMP 2.8.6

Any thoughts?

Sorry meant to say Onkel's GIMP Painter 2.8 x64, on Win 7 64bit, Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch - and up-to-date wacom driver. Apart from the delay, pressure sensitivity is working.

@Rod: Hmm, I don't know. I was wondering also, but I don't really care :-)

@Billps: Try the libcairo-2.dll from a working gimp installation. (but backup the old one first).
Cairo from 1.11.2 is broken with windows, maybe there is a newer one installed.
Bug report to the cairo developer team is done.

@Onkel thanks for that - it worked!!! Brilliant!!!

But I needed two files from GIMP 2.8.6 to get the wacom tablet to play nice in GIMP Painter.

libcairo-2.dll
libgcc_s_seh-1.dll

Alright, nevermind, copying libgdk*.dll from GIMP 2.8.6 to Gimp-Painter 2.8.3 solves the canvas tearing problem completely.

There's still a bug with color wheel selector that makes it crash sometimes, but this is less annoying. Maybe there's another dll transplant that fixes it, but I didn't have any luck with that.
