You're on a roll. I like what it did to PC's image. It looks great on your text too. I'm appreciating the abstraction these effects can add to photos.

Just messing around with the embroidery script.
I ran the script on the bridge image, then placed a duplicate of the original on top in difference mode.
Then i placed the result and the original side by side and flipped the original to match the other side. :)
Quite a difference in dimension in the embroider result. The clouds look like they jump out at you.

Rod, Is this filter supposed to come up with a dialogue to edit settings? Mine just makes it the one way.

Although not a gimp plugin, the best embroidery 'maker' I've found is Embroidery Effects, which is free. It only works with vectors but the results are outstanding. The results are very good if one takes the time.
The pros are that it makes outstanding embroidery images and is free.
The Cons are that it doesn't work with bitmaps and works best with wmf, emf, and eps formats. I've attached two examples, I suggest zooming on them to see the detail.:

Thanks for the comments folks, Molly i could probably make something interactive if you need it.
This was just to make a quick simple embroidery sewing effect without adjusting anything.(no dialog)
Can you show me an original image of your bear before running the script?
Which parts of the embroidery effect to you want to be able to adjust?

I really need to thank Monsoonami at this point for his excellent Video Tutorials on Script-Fu writing.

I wish their were more tutorials like this out there.Hands on has always worked better with me. :)

Not a bad Script-fu Rod. Added a few of my own secret ingredients (include an custom Impressionist preset I concocted several years ago; I know, non-GIMP but I did run the plugin using PSPI which now is among the still few plugins that work with it. lol) for this result. :)

I did a couple of things. First, I combined your script with kward's glass filter.

Image

Then I tried combining it with Draconian's denim. Maybe the program Gms mentioned would be better for this.
