My try.
Did some changes in the flow to get an outcome to my taste:
- no equalization step with this image (it creates wrong nuances)
- last (top) layer mode, set to Overlay
- quantized layer opacity, set to 75.0
- copy of BG for mixing Hue mode, set to LCH_COLOR
