Can always just duplicate the layer, Fill it with the flame pattern, set it to soft light, and adjust the opacity a bit:

Cool effect, now there's a reflection of the fire in your text. Very nice!
You must be using a gradient on the text, right?

Thanks. I made the chrome letters just like the tut I made. Gradient mapped. 3D effect applied. Duplicated the layer, alpha to selection, painted it, then filled it with flames. Set the mode to soft light, then brought the opacity down a bit.
