Hate doing tuts, but here's an image flow Sally. Had to recreate the steps, so not exactly the end result, but close enough. Also, attached the resulting XCF file (compressed). Play around with the radius settings in lylejk stencil preset. The fake smudge is a custom preset but it's from the anisotropic smoothing preset in GMIC.

Thanks for the feedback Rod. With work et. al. been a little too wack to render of late. Now I'm a little stressed with the federal gov. since it can lead to me getting axed. Oh well.

Just saw what my problem is. I looked and looked and couldn't find fake smudge. (Unless of course it is also under another name)Thought it might be because I only had 1.5.6 G'MIC so updated it to the latest. Refreshed after opening it and I only have 514 filters and you have 529.
Well you can use them better anyhow. Love your work.

Again, it's a customer preset. Look for the Smooth Anisotrophic preset and adjust the sliders accordingly Sallyanne.
