Possible I used slightly different settings then He4rty; I only use a generalized flow that I continually tweak so it may not be 100% exactly what I did last time but it gives you a similar result as you can see. lol

YES YOU DO. See image below for location. Again, I saved this one as a custom preset which I renamed Bilateral Filtering.

In regards to Visible, he means Right Click on the top layer in the Layer's dialog and choose 'New from Visible'.

It's is the settings shown using the Anisotrophic Smoothing option under the Repair menu in GMIC.
