Hi all, I've been trying to improve my environment landscape painting. I was trying to learn how to paint stone buildings with this one. Any critiques would be appreciated - thanks.

If your building is supposed to be old, I think the stone should look more weathered with "stuff" between the blocks like moss, dirt, dust. You have done a nice job but it needs more textures and the blocks need to be more defined.

You have the right idea and I think as you work with your picture you'll have something really nice.

maybe, just playing with G'MIC freaky details (using masks) and a bit of saturation may help

I hope you don't mind if I take your nice "fantasyland" as a base for a stained glass window...

@Oregonian: Thanks for the feedback, I think you're right, there's not enough texturing on the stone, good spot.
@Dinasset: Wow I love what you did with both G'MIC and the stained glass window - awesome stuff, thanks for sharing :) .

The edges on the building seem a bit too hard.

@David-C: Yes I see what you mean, I should have made the edges more irregular to simulate the irregularities of a stone surface - thanks for the feedback :).
