* ``Very First'' excluding scribbles and tests just to see how everything works. I mean ``real'' drawings. Most people probably wouldn't save tests, but I would. I'm a data squirrel

I thought this would be a fun topic since I actually have mine. Feel free to add your own.

Mine:

It's a character from my work-in-progress. She was featured in a few posts I made to GT a couple years ago... I don't expect either myself nor my art to be memorable enough for anybody to remember... but anything's possible. This was drawn in 2008 and represented the best of my abilities to draw people. As an added bonus, the ``woodgrain'' on the handle of the rope is formed by my initials.

That one is lost to history Merrak. lol

Started using GIMP since 2001 and regularly in 2003 (so I usually say, I've been using GIMP for 9 years since it really didn't count until 2003). Not as long as I bet some folk here, but long enough to not have kept much of what I did in GIMP then. :)

Maybe I'm unusual since I didn't even get interested in art until about the same time - relatively recently! I still have some of my first paper drawings that are only about a month or two older. They're...

... old.

I believe this was around 2003 - 2004, my first attempt at using GIMP with a scanned sketch and then rendering the image with gradient fills, etc. Even now, it makes me want to improve on it, as I know it could use it.

Arrg; meant to say 2002. lol

Had to process well over 600 images for VBS (ex-wife and I volunteered for various activities for vacation bible school and I was the official photographer that season with my trusty Canon a40). Learned a lot and in a short period of time with GIMP. Looking back at some of the edits, I laugh at how crappy they were (but you should never judge something then after you've used a program for 9 years; lol). :)

That's pretty good, though! I wish I could find my first computer drawing... it was on a ``state of the art'' 286 my dad brought home from work when I was little. It had a program that would let you enter a word and it would write it out in big block letters, about 10 characters tall and 8 or so wide. Each letter was formed out of little letters, e.g. the A was formed out of A's. I recall my brother and I spending a lot of time playing with it. I realized you could form little pictures by being clever with the input.
