I'm rather pleased with how this scene came out, so I thought I'd share it.

The image itself is a link to the dA larger version.
I've been getting interested in Fractal Art. This is certainly not a Fractal Art piece, but the idea came to me when I was looking at the fractal nature of leaf veins. They reminded me of some of the road networks in the nearby city of Raleigh - which has many twisting and branching roads. I've tried to pick difficult (for me) anatomy lately. Side facial profiles are a particular weakness I'm trying to overcome. This started out as an exercise.
On the subject of Fractal Art: I thought it might be fun to write a 3D fractal explorer. I've written OpenGL programs in the past - and I'm on top of the required mathematics. There is a Mandelbulb explorer addon for PhotoShop. Since I don't have PS, I don't know how it works. But if it doesn't involve being able to fly around and take pictures, it could be improved.
