Not sure if you know De Chirico http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Chirico that was told to be a Italian surrealistic painter...well this is not exact he was a PRE -surrealistic painter, he was a surrealist long before the beginning of the trend and when the surrealism ofiicially started he fork to open his movement ," Scuola Metafisica" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaphysical_art.

But this is not too relevant here i was just thinking that De Chirico would have liked have a Attic like this

Image

About the March of the Blobby Aliens better start from the beginning,:
first the blobby aliens found some shelter in empty hidden spaces between the walls or under the roof

this is the Blobby Alien Nest most diffuse in big old building as in Gothic Church Bell Tower or even in most recent but still aged old Skyscrape

Image

Note that Blobby Aliens are convinced to be highly mimetic and try to change color scheme according to the surrounding

Image

This is even smarter, it was found camouflaged as part of the choreography during a tour of Death Metal band ,( At soon discovered was immediately hired as responsible for the choreography )

Image

a different view of the first

Image

Anyway once settled they start to expand

even if are convinced to be highly mimetic their camouflage is not always perfect, this attic was used as storage for very old (still in clay instead then glass or plastic )wine bottles so They did their best to look as old wine bottles...but maybe with no to much success

Image

And when all layers of Aliens are sufficiently expanded ...
...then start the March of the Blobby Aliens

Image
EDIT

oopps the first image, De Chirico attic went lost, sorry fixing now !

The little narratives are really quite clever. I wonder if you could take some of your best renders and put together a short picture book.

The Tardis blends in nicely with its surroundings. Maybe the Doctor is holding the BBC managers to ransom for more wages. Who knows...?
