Nice comic-book style here. They look grim and determined despite the dangers facing them.
Thanks! I usually try to go for more realistic and/or anime-ish styles but I figured a change of pace would be nice.

If I may offer some feedback, you might want to take a look at the anatomy of his right arm behind the shield. A shield is tied parallel to the lower arm in order to absorb blows. Holding it like he does in the picture is this a sure way of breaking his hand/arm. If you want to show off the crest of the shield you might consider raising it up in front of him instead, completely hiding his arm (picture where his arm would be if he held it folded in front of him). Just some suggestions.

Yeah, you're right of course. I know the shield position isn't really realistic but I figured I'd take creative liberties with it, or maybe he's just carrying the shield and hasn't yet strapped it on properly. On retrospection, maybe I should have gone with a buckler instead...

How do you like Krita, by the way?
I like it a lot. It's by far the best drawing software I've used. Of course, YMMV, and whatever works for each person individually is fine, but to me it just feels good. It's really amazing how poorly known it is considering how incredible features it has, some of the things you can do with it are totally unique to it, to the point that you don't even find them in actual proprietary drawing programs. I'd still rather use Gimp for more generic tasks, such as image manipulation or pixel art and such, but for drawing Krita is clearly superior. Interestingly, Krita even has some features that Gimp is only beginning to accomplish (higher bit depths, non-rgb colourspaces (ycbcr, cmyk), dynamic filters, group masks...)
If I had to compare it with Mypaint, I feel both have their strong points, but purely on a feature-set basis Krita wins clearly. One thing Mypaint has that I miss in Krita is infinite canvas, I'd like to have it as an option, because a lot of times I end up having to increase the canvas after I start. Also Krita is quite heavy on the memory consumption, and I hear this is by design (the devs prioritize speed and features over memory efficiency), so if your computer doesn't have at least 4GB I'd recommend using Mypaint instead.
