rdgracer71: that looks good! i like the moss in the foreground, it has so much moss character even if it was very quickly made. i could never make something so quickly, i'm a very slow worker, so i'm impressed :).

I love this painting and from what I see, you are learning a lot about color perspective. I can really tell the difference between this one and your earlier ones. When I sit away from the pc I can see the depth.
KUDOS --> Keep up the good work.

here are the brushes i used. they are simple ones. theres one that is not showing in the pic below. it's the circle brush. i used the circle brush to make the clouds along with the smudge tool and to also draw the mountains with. i drew the outline of the mountains with the circle tool and just filled them with the bucket tool. to make the grass i used the one on the bottom of the this pic along with the airbrush tool and lowering the rate and pressure of the airbrush tool and just change different colors of green and browns. thats pretty much it. the fog or mist at the base of the mountains were made with the brush at the top of my picture ,with the airbrush tool and lowering the rate and pressure. and that's pretty much all i used.

That's a lovely peaceful painting. I like the texture in the grass.

i truly enjoy painting with my gimp. and i have thought about starting a series of how to videos on youtube to show step by step how i do my paintings. In other words i would use a screen recorder to record me doing a painting from start to finish and it would show how i do my paintings. But i'm not sure yet if i am gonna do it or not.

Good luck if you do. I would love to do video tutorials but my computer can't handle running two programs at once.

Very nice painting and good choice of colors. I also really like the softness of the clouds. :)
