Yes, Flamepainter 1.7x is more then adequate to have created this one, but I wanted to have some fun with my new toy (Flamepainter 2.0). Used the Python Clone Layer Tool plugin and more then enough G'MIC presets for the final result. Click here for the image's Flickr (and links there to the hirez which has a transparent background).

lylejk: oooh that's stunning! the clone layer tool and multi-replicate script should be more used, they can do amazing stuff. i'm a bit curious what the original flame painter image looked like, before it met gimp and g'mic?

lol; yeah, I put off getting it for over 2 years but Rod finally nudged me into that direction a year ago from this past Christmas (someone at DPReview introduced it to me 3 or so years back). It's extremely powerful in the right hands, but I have to GIMP augment it in order to create my glass sculptures. What this program does is make it 100 times easier from the gate.
