Yeah it does "pop".
The background is not actually black, it's a really "dark blue #000a31".

It's so close to black that it looks more black then blue.

I like the subtle blue black trick. It lets you do fun things with dodge too.

I'll come clean it's simply my 'Black Gold' script (that follows conbagui's tutorial) ran with default settings

I used the BRL script, then extruded with the 3D Extrusion script and tweaked the hue/contrast/saturation values.
