Design your own Aerogram

Gave me an idea....like design (in GIMP) a design that can be folded into an envelope after printing.
But I just tried folding a sheet of regular printer paper like 8.5x11 and can't fold it like a regular envelope diagonally,
but maybe just fold it straight then it has enough area for an envelope ...
and then design it so that the diagonals are printed like as if it was a diagonal fold...
or just leave blank like envelops from the government
Too bad i don't have a printer near by to play with.

So i thought i would make a simple design that fits standard size paper (8.5x11).
here's the one side (the inside of envelope)

and here's the other side (the outside of envelope).

If you want to play with it with your printer and fold it and glue it together into an envelope i'd love to see pictures of the actual envelope. You might have to play with flipping your paper around to get it to print matching the inside with the outside.

These images are 72ppi btw.

Before the invention of email and electronic messages there were different forms of 'paper communications'. In an envelope people put written messages on separate paper but there were 'aerograms' on which people wrote the letter and then sent after folding and gluing its parts together. So this is an aerogram.

I thought I'd share the .xcf file too if anyone wants to easily design another aerogram. It has layers for each item on envelope just turn them off/on and add your own layers...and it has a path for stroking to see folding lines.

here's one where i just deleted stroked background and restroked the path with dashed pattern to indicate folding or cutting lines.

I thought I would steal the Canada Post Logo and use it on the envelope :hehe

and now enough for a blinking lights animation :mrgreen:

You should add a disclaimer or warning of your blinking lights animated envelope,
for those that may experience photosensitivity seizures.

I have slowed down the animation so hopefully no one gets a seizure from that.
In any case i added a warning and hid it as spoiler text.
Spoiler text is cool i didn't think it would work for images but it does great
