I've seen dozens of ``distressed paper'' results like what I've posted below - but I have not found any tutorial explaining how to make it. (Likely because I don't know what search terms to use... and despite its ambitions, Google Goggles isn't quite this advanced yet). So, I figured out something I think looks nice. This is my result. If anyone is interested I can explain what I did.

The last drawing I posted was an illustration for the start of a chapter. This is a ``normal page.'' The main text is just from the basic text tool, but the little drawing and title header have some effects to make the ink look a bit watery.

I have recently come to understand GIMPressionist a little better, and making my own brushes and paper for it, has led me to find some very unique paper "stressing" techniques. The possibilities are so endless, I'm pressed on what to start with for my first example. Perhaps some more testing over the weekend will bring me to a true "ah ha" moment.

I'm interested in learning what you did, maybe I can apply it to GIMPressionist somehow.

I wish I could remember what I did

I do have it written down somewhere, but I've rearranged my office since then and misplaced my notebook.
