A little image for entry into a contest on DeviantArt's #deviousdeadlines contest, which this week has the theme "Outdoors". Just brushwork and a play with light.

MyPaint + GIMP, about 40 minutes.

It does have a very mysterious look to it.Well done Griatch.
Seems to also be a very peaceful place. :)

I would almost expect a sword inside a stone further on.Or perhaps a cobblestone hut with a witch or two.
Maybe an elf?

Won the contest ... which considering I was the only one to get an entry in this week was maybe not so surprising. ;)

You are right - had one developed this into a full picture one might indeed have added some mystical figures to it, would have fit well!
