Do you know the paradox of time and space!
The Monolith is dressed up to be in tune with the environment , and avoid to raise too much attention , but it prepared the dressing on the base of the memories of his last visit

That was very recent, only a few hours ago , in his reality .
But that few hours ago, for a well known space time parodox, here correspond to the age of the first pre-Colombian civilization

So yes his it risks to look a bit unusual ... but Monoliths are smart at least as average UFO :
as everybody known UFO pilots were previously used to park inside BBC or Hollywood Studios , (now more often in Bollywood Studios ), were the more strange were the UFO and the crews the less were noticed

But sometimes were noticed by smart producer and to maintain their coverage they usually accepted to be rented as special effect at bargain price .
As happened for the Doctor Who , in the galaxy is well know that a large part of the success of the series is derived by the use as special effects of real UFO and aliens , real but carefully disguised as special effects simulating real UFO or Aliens ...simulating perfectly since were real

Just in case you end on driving a UFO and you don't know where to park ...

It's interesting that one can spot a face int that monolith (those two circles become eyes) even though there is none. We humans sure find other humans in every inanimate form. Nice concept, Photocomix. :)

@Esper

Because looking objectively there is really no human face in the monolith? It's just abstract patterns, and nevertheless our brains don't need much to convert those abstract patterns into a face. Humans love seeing other humans, we are hard-wired to do so.

photo comix: wow, nice "monolith" :)! interesting that you talk of the monolith as a "person", i've always thought if it as "object".

yes sure but as noticed Esper that monolith may resemble a face
And as Griatch pointed out, just because we tend to see faces everywhere,
i played with this perception trick , it was already something that could be seen as eyes so i just add a semisphere that could enforce the impression (even if i was to lazy to add there a concavity that could be seen as a mouth )
