wallace: i like this one too, but i loved the other one. i think the way the halo is placed makes it look rather comical and the wings look too chunky and heavy to fly with. apart from that, everything is just smashing - lovely background with the birds, lightning and rainbow, the picture of jh is beautifully colourized and seamlessly integrated in the picture and all the details hold the usual superb wallace quality.

I like that one Wallace. The colours are awesome. Maybe a "Purple Haze" coming next?

very nice - i especially like the overall psychedelic look of the picture !

it seems Jimi Hendrix is an artist most Gimpchatter seem to agree on, despite of age or background

i am certainly a Hendrix fan myself, although im mostly a techno guy with a bit of David Bowie and KISS from time to time for a change :mrgreen:

Thanks Graechan...

I feel that something is missing in his skin color, but I cant seem to put my finger on it.

@AnMal,

Thanks! :)

I know what you mean about the wings and the halo I thought came out perfectly, have you viewed the image in full size? The halo look much different viewed in full size.

Do you think that I could improve on his skin coloring?
I feel that something is lacking, but don't know what that might be.

wallace: oh no, please don't change the colouring on jh, i think it looks great and all the shades work together so nicely in this picture! i have seen the image full size but i never thought there was anything wrong with the halo in itself, it's stuff like placement and angle and maybe size that makes it look comical in my eyes. if you're happy with it that way i have no objections of course :).

Hendrix was such an innovator! My fav group was and always will be Queen, but they were influenced by Hendrix, too! I know Freddie had a great respect for Hendrix.

I did an image of 'Queen', maybe I should post that one too.
You can view it here at my deviantArt account if you like... http://geosammy.deviantart.com/art/Quee ... 98324&qo=6

@AnMal,

I'm not going to change the image at all, just thought you might have some suggestions as to how I might be able to improve my coloring of 'dark skin'.
