Yep, that's what I used.

I use that same scm for most of the 3d text I make. I always use the 'half-depth' settings as well.

I think I set the depth at 10. Just reopened the 3D script every time it finished, and increased it by 10 more, etc. I kept doing it until the "open" part of the "G" went back far enough that the background wasn't showing.

I like the last one best.

I like that the last one's gradient matches the gradient in the text better, but I like the second better, because it's darker, and gives the reflection a deeper shine.

Great work Warrior, as to the three images, was going to go with the fire till I saw the last one and it all just clicks on that background.

All the backgrounds look nice. Very good for just messing around. And the Chrome text is great.

the series is very nice i like mostly that with the fire (the fire pattern is a bit too repetitive..but does work !) and the last

i remember seeing a video from 'meet the gimp' about making chrome and they said that good chrome picks up a bit of the background

which again reminds me of a tutorial that PhotoComix posted how to get light reflected on persons standing in a cave, but i cant find it anymore

The pattern is definitely too repetitive. I took a snip of flames from a photo, and made a seamless repeating pattern out of it.
